The company aims to display its contributions to the European rail network and the breadth of its fleet.

Akiem, a key provider of locomotive and passenger train leasing in Europe, will attend InnoTrans 2024, the international trade fair for transport technology in Berlin, scheduled from September 24 to 27.

Extensive European Presence

With operations in 22 European countries, Akiem plays a role in supporting mobility for millions of passengers and transporting significant freight volumes. During InnoTrans, the company plans to focus on its connections with various regions, showing how its local partnerships play a part in the broader European rail network.

Rolling Stock Fleet

Akiem’s fleet includes 750 locomotives and nearly 50 passenger trains, holding a notable market share. These rolling stock units are built to meet high standards of safety, comfort, and energy efficiency. Akiem states that its financial capacity enables it to support changes in the rail market and provide flexibility to freight and passenger train operators.

Maintenance Operations

Maintenance is a key aspect of Akiem's operations, with the company aiming to ensure the reliability and availability of its rolling stock. It has established maintenance centers and a network of partners across Europe. In 2024, the company rolled out a transformation program for its Maintenance & Services division to enhance its maintenance offerings. This initiative included the opening of a new facility in Ostricourt, northern France, designed to set a benchmark in capacity and training for rail maintenance.

InnoTrans Display

At InnoTrans 2024, Akiem will present its capabilities and services, including the new TRAXX MS3 Universal locomotive, developed in collaboration with Alstom. The company has placed an order for 75 of these locomotives, with an option for an additional 25 units. This addition is expected to expand European rail freight capacity.
